Personal information collected

We may collect personal information about individuals such as clients, supporters, volunteers, contractors, job applicants and persons sought by family members requesting our tracing services. We collect personal information that you provide to us directly, as well as from publicly available sources and third parties where you consent or we are otherwise authorised by law.

Our website at www.iss.org.au may use “cookies” from time to time to record information about your visit to the website. Any such information will be aggregated and not linked to particular individuals.

Use and disclosure of personal information

We may collect, use and disclose your personal information to provide our services, contact supporters and for related purposes including recruitment and internal administration.

We may share your personal information with:

  • our contractors, volunteers, partner agencies and associated ISS offices overseas;
  • third party service providers that perform tasks involving personal information for us;
  • government agencies where appropriate to funding arrangements our services; and
  • your referees, police, Centrelink and recruitment consultants if you apply for a position with us.

Otherwise we only disclose your personal information with your consent or where we are required or authorised by law.
