Free online seminar: 40 years of the 1980 Hague Convention
On October 27, 2020 at 11-12pm experts from ISS Australia will be joined by leading family law specialist Amanda Humphreys to deliver an informative one-hour session on International Mediation and 40 years of the 1980 Hague Convention.
Each year in Australia, hundreds of children are abducted by a parent and taken overseas. As well as children being taken from Australia, children who live overseas may be taken by a parent and brought into Australia. International parental child abduction has become an unfortunate reality for some separated families. To help combat this an international agreement known as the 1980 Hague Convention was established.
In acknowledgement of the 40th Anniversary of the 1980 Hague Convention, International Parental Child Abduction Experts from the International Social Service (ISS) Australia will come together to explore the use and effectiveness of mediation in Hague Convention matters.
