ISS Australia Statement on the 10th Anniversary of the National Apology for Forced Adoption

ISS Australia calls on Australian Governments to pay greater attention to the needs of intercountry adoptees on the 10th anniversary of the National Apology for Forced Adoption.

ISS Australia commends the Australian Government and then Prime Minister Julia Gillard for their courageous and much needed National Apology to people affected by forced adoption or removal policies and practices in Australia ten years ago. We also support services which have been provided to those impacted by forced adoption practices and moves by some governments to establish compensation schemes. International Social Service (ISS) Australia has also called on Australian governments to pay greater attention to the needs of intercountry adoptees going forward.
