New list of 1980 Hague Convention countries in force with Australia

ISS Australia's IPCA service has developed a new list of 1980 Hague Convention countries in force with Australia. This list is easily accessible on our website and will be updated regularly.

1980 Hague Convention countries in force with Australia

The 1980 Hague Convention is not in force between Australia and the following countries (despite them being Hague signatories): Andorra, Gabon, Guinea, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Morocco, Russia, Seychelles and Zambia. This means you cannot make a 1980 Hague Convention application for the return of, or access to, children located in these countries.

Separately, Australia has Bilateral Agreements with Lebanon and Egypt.
